What they need
MCJ Appointments is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to support a Local Council’s Strategic Communications team. This is an opportunity to create engaging print and digital materials that promote Council’s services, events and community initiatives.
About the role
Reporting to the Coordinator Branding and Marketing, you’ll manage design projects from initial brief and concept development through to production and delivery. You’ll work across a busy portfolio, producing quality work while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing brochures, flyers, posters, publications, advertisements and signage.
- Creating digital assets for Council’s marketing and communications.
- Preparing artwork for print, including colour management and production requirements.
- Liaising with suppliers to coordinate print production.
- Providing creative advice and collaborating with internal stakeholders and fellow designers.
- Supporting multimedia projects and maintaining consistent branding.
About you
You’re a creative, organised designer with a strong portfolio, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
You will bring:
- Qualifications in graphic design, visual communications or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.
- Strong skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience producing both print and digital collateral.
- Knowledge of artwork preparation and print production processes.
- An understanding of motion graphics and how designs translate to digital platforms.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and project management skills.
- A Class C driver’s licence.
- A valid Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.
Experience with Premiere Pro and After Effects will support the multimedia aspects of the role. Local government experience, drone skills and basic animation skills are desirable.
Ready to make your creative mark?
Apply through MCJ Appointments with your resume and portfolio showcasing your print and digital design work.
