Graphic Designer (Junior to Mid-Level)

The role is fully remote, and we'd particularly like to hear from candidates based in SA.

We need a designer who can pick up design work wherever it turns up in the business. Some weeks that's website UI. Some weeks it's a logo, a set of social assets, a pitch deck, ad creative, or a bit of print. If you like variety and you're happiest when the brief changes shape from one job to the next, this will suit you. If you want to do one thing all day, it won't.

This is a junior to mid-level role, so we're not expecting you to have done everything already. We are expecting you to be good, to be curious, and to want to get better.

What the job looks like day to day

Designing website pages and interfaces that our dev team then builds. Producing creative for paid campaigns across Meta, Google, LinkedIn and ChatGPT. Brand and logo work for new clients. Social assets, decks, whatever the account teams need. Light video editing when a campaign calls for it, so cutting and captioning short-form rather than full production.

You'll work with dev, SEO, paid media and the account managers across both offices, so you need to take a brief well and ask questions when something isn't clear. The UK and SA time difference is small, so there's plenty of crossover and support available, but you'll still need to run your own day.

What we're looking for

• 2 to 4 years' experience, ideally in an agency
• A portfolio we can look at. This is non-negotiable. Send a link or a PDF with your application. We want to see the range, not just your three prettiest pieces. Student, personal and spec work all count
• Your own hardware and a reliable setup. The role is fully remote, so you'll need your own computer capable of running design software comfortably, a stable internet connection and a backup plan for load shedding
• Willingness to complete a short design test. It's small, we'll brief it properly, and it won't eat your weekend
• A working understanding of design for paid advertising across Meta, Google, LinkedIn and ChatGPT. Every platform has its own specs, safe zones, text limits and quirks, and creative that ignores them underperforms no matter how good it looks. LinkedIn needs a more considered, professional register than Meta. ChatGPT's ad format is a small square with very little room for copy, so knowing how to make something read at that size matters. If you haven't worked across all four, tell us which you have
• UI/UX experience, ideally web. Understanding layout, hierarchy, responsive behaviour and what a developer can realistically build
• A conceptual mindset. We want someone who starts from the idea and the audience rather than from a template
• A strong creative approach. You have a point of view and can explain why a design works, not just that it looks nice
• Comfortable across the usual design tools. We use Figma and Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) among others. We're less fussed about which you prefer than about whether you can work in whatever the job needs
• Light video editing is a real plus. Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, whatever you use. Enough to cut and caption short-form social and ad content
• Good written English and the confidence to present work and take feedback without taking it personally

Nice to have

Motion or animation work. Experience designing within WordPress, Shopify or Wix constraints. Any exposure to designing for paid performance rather than just brand.
