Position: Graphic Editor

Full time, 12-month renewable contract

ABOUT THE JOB

Join our fast-paced news editing room as a talented, deadline-driven Graphic Editor. You will create high-impact visual assets for international social media audiences, enhancing storytelling and driving engagement. Primary responsibilities include designing: compelling video thumbnails, promotional posters for video series, and video packaging elements (titles, name supers, location notes); and collaborating with copyeditors to produce attention-grabbing info-graphics.

ABOUT YOU

1. Bachelor's degree or above.
2. Excellent English communication and writing skills; proficiency in Chinese or other languages is a plus.
3. Proven experience creating graphics for digital news, media, or a related field.
4. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign essential; After Effects a plus for simple motion/video elements). Proven ability to effectively leverage AI tools to enhance graphic design workflows, accelerate asset creation, and explore creative concepts.
5. Strong portfolio showcasing info-graphics, social media design (static & simple motion), video thumbnails, and promotional posters.
6. Excellent understanding of visual storytelling for digital platforms and global audiences.
7. Keen news sense, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail under pressure.
8. Ability to work collaboratively (especially with editorial/copy teams) in a fast-paced editorial environment.
9. Deep understanding of social media best practices and platform specifications (especially for international reach).
10. Familiarity with global and China-related news narratives is a strong plus, enabling rapid translation of complex stories into visuals that resonate with international audiences.
11. Basic understanding of Chinese society, economy and culture, with willingness to deepen such knowledge. Strong teamwork and cross-cultural communication skills.
