GRC Principal - Data Privacy and Security

For our client, we are seeking a GRC Principal - Data Privacy and Security to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will shape and strengthen the organization's governance, risk, and compliance posture across security and privacy domains. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to advance audit readiness, data governance, vendor risk practices, and customer assurance efforts. The position also calls for forward-looking leadership in AI-enabled GRC automation and evolving regulatory expectations. This is a highly influential role for someone who can build programs, improve control maturity, and guide executives without direct authority.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SOC 1 and SOC 2 audit lifecycles, ensuring control readiness and accountability
• Evolve the organization's information security management system (ISMS) and control frameworks
• Enhance vendor risk management strategies, frameworks, and stakeholder collaboration
• Oversee customer assurance efforts for enterprise security and scale security documentation
• Develop and advance the data governance program in collaboration with relevant teams
• Build the privacy compliance program addressing GDPR and CCPA requirements
• Track regulatory landscape changes and adapt policies accordingly

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in GRC, information security, and privacy compliance, preferably in fintech or payments sectors
• Proficiency in building and scaling rigorous compliance programs
• Strong project management skills with a focus on cross-functional collaboration
• Experience leveraging AI for GRC automation and improvement
• Deep knowledge of security compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA)
• Understanding of AI/ML governance and evolving regulatory standards
• Exceptional ability to influence cross-functional teams and executives without direct authority
