About The Company We are working exclusively with a global renewable energy technology business that is expanding its Australian engineering team and looking for Grid Engineers and Senior Grid Engineers to join their Melbourne-based team.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of power systems, grid connection and wind turbine technology, with exposure to some of Australia's most significant renewable energy projects.

About The Role You'll work across the full lifecycle of utility-scale wind projects, collaborating with developers, AEMO, NSPs, consultants and international engineering teams.

Depending On Your Level, You'll Be Involved In

  • Power system studies including load flow, stability, fault level and harmonic analysis.
  • Grid connection applications, registration and commissioning documentation.
  • GPS negotiations and compliance under NER 5.2.
  • Power system modelling using PSS/E, PSCAD and/or PowerFactory.
  • Wind turbine model validation and control system performance assessment.
  • Technical engagement with AEMO, TNSPs, DNSPs, developers and consultants.
  • Early-stage connection strategies and feasibility assessments.
  • For Senior Engineers, ownership of grid connection scopes, leadership of technical workstreams and mentoring junior engineers.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in power systems or grid engineering, ideally within renewable energy.
  • Experience with PSS/E, PSCAD and/or PowerFactory.
  • Understanding of the Australian NEM, AEMO connection process, GPS and NER 5.2.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • For the Senior role, proven experience independently delivering grid connection studies and technical workstreams.

Why Join? You'll be joining a lean, highly technical and autonomous Australian engineering team within a global renewable energy technology business.

The role offers genuine technical ownership, exposure to the turbine/grid interface, direct engagement with AEMO and network providers, and collaboration with international engineering teams.

Benefits Include

  • Hybrid working and flexible working arrangements
  • Strong focus on health and wellbeing
  • Mental health and employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Financial wellbeing support
  • Lifestyle and preventative health benefits
  • Gender-neutral parental leave
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities

With a strong pipeline of utility-scale wind projects across Australia, this is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in one of the most technically interesting areas of the renewable energy sector.
