Grill Cook - Le Select

Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, the GRILL COOK is responsible for safely preparing dishes required for a full-service restaurant. The ideal candidate must have previous kitchen experience and be motivated by a desire to progress in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging environment. The GRILL COOK will be responsible for prepping and managing the grill station.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Preparing and cooking raw meats, fish, and poultry to the highest standards
• Review and maintain safe handling and storage of varied meats
• Responsible for cutting or carving meat, fish, or poultry in addition to assembling, measuring and mixing other ingredients for each dish

Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a grill cook an asset
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Strong knife skills and experience in the use of kitchen equipment and utensils
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights
• Must be energetic with a passion for food and a positive attitude
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
• Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism (i.e., punctuality, commitment to the job, well-groomed, mannerly, great team work etc.)
• Attention to detail
• Food handling and health & safety training an asset
• Experience and knowledge of seafood preparation is a strong asset
