Grocery Manager / Assistant Store Director

Position Summary
The White’s Foodliner Grocery Manager / Assistant Store Director leads the grocery department and serves as the Store Director’s second in command. This person keeps the grocery department organized, well stocked, and running smoothly, and helps lead the whole store. They step in to direct store operations when the Store Director is away. This role is key to maintaining excellent store conditions, efficient operations, and outstanding customer service.

Essential Responsibilities

Grocery Department

• Oversee daily grocery department operations, including stocking, ordering, merchandising, and inventory management.
• Supervise, train, and support grocery department employees.
• Ensure shelves are properly stocked, organized, and maintained.
• Plan and execute merchandising displays, seasonal promotions, and product placement.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure orders are written and processed in a timely manner.
• Verify invoices daily to ensure accurate purchases and credits from vendors and suppliers.
• Maintain proper product rotation and minimize shrink.
• Maintain organized and efficient sales floor, backroom, and storage areas.

Assistant Store Director

• Work closely with the Store Director to manage overall store operations and achieve company goals.
• Lead the store in the Store Director’s absence, including opening, closing, and day-to-day decisions.
• Support department managers and help coordinate staffing and scheduling across the store.
• Help train and develop employees and Leaders of the Pack for future advancement.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Model and enforce company policies, safety procedures, and cleanliness standards storewide.

Qualifications

• Previous grocery or retail experience preferred; supervisory or management experience a plus.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of grocery inventory, ordering, and merchandising.
• Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions independently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
