Responsibilities

• Assist groomers by safely handling animals during grooming procedures, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming
• Prepare pets for grooming by bathing, drying, brushing, and applying basic grooming products under supervision
• Ensure proper animal restraint during grooming to maintain safety for pets and staff
• Support with animal care tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and monitoring health conditions
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and provide updates on pet behavior or special requirements
• Handle heavy lifting when necessary to move animals or equipment safely around the grooming area
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including disinfecting tools and grooming stations regularly

Skills

• Experience in dog training, dog handling, or animal handling techniques that promote calm and cooperative pets
• Veterinary experience or veterinary technician background that enhances understanding of animal health and safety protocols
• Veterinary assistant or kennel experience that demonstrates familiarity with animal care routines
• Knowledge of pet coat styling, pet grooming techniques, and pet nail trimming best practices
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
• Ability to perform animal restraint safely and compassionately during grooming procedures
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing hands-on animal care tasks

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
