Ground Maintenance Operative

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a commercial ground maintenance operative. Working on some very exciting national contracts. Role suits an experienced person who has an eye to detail, can do attitude and isnt afraid of hard work. Hours do change depending on requirements and the role will involve on call evening/night and weekend cover.

We are a fast growing company and looking for people who are looking to grow and develop within the buisness. All staff start at the bottom with many now senior management.

Ideal candidate will have the following

Full driving licence

PA spraying licence

Chainsaw licence

Zero turn mower experience

First aid

Duties

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and turf care to ensure vibrant and healthy outdoor spaces
• Operate power tools such as hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, ride on zero turn mowers, leaf blowers, and edgers efficiently and safely
• Use hand tools for planting, digging, edging, and general groundskeeping activities
• Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, or adjusting sprinklers to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas
• Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify issues requiring repair or maintenance and address them promptly
• Assist with construction projects related to outdoor improvements or installations using excavators and other heavy machinery when needed
• Carry out general maintenance tasks on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety standards

Requirements

• Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture or groundskeeping roles
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools and small machinery safely
• Familiarity with construction experience or working with excavators is advantageous
• Strong understanding of irrigation systems and their maintenance requirements
• Ability to use hand tools effectively for various groundskeeping tasks
• Knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care techniques
• Prior experience working with power tools and performing routine equipment maintenance is preferred

Pay: £25,561.60-£28,800.00 per year
