Nestled on the shores of Lake Beedelup and surrounded by towering karri forests in Western Australia's stunning Southwest, RAC Karri Valley Resort offers a unique opportunity to live and work in one of the state's most picturesque natural destinations.

We are seeking an experienced Grounds & Maintenance Manager to join our team in a full-time permanent role. Leading our Grounds & Maintenance team, you will ensure the resort's gardens, grounds, facilities and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standard, creating an exceptional experience for our guests.

Set amongst towering forests, scenic walking trails and tranquil lake views, this is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on leadership role in a unique natural environment.

On-site accommodation is available for the successful candidate.

What will you be doing?

As Grounds & Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the presentation, upkeep and safety of the resort's grounds, buildings, equipment and facilities. You will lead a small team while also being hands-on in maintaining the property and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and supervise the Grounds & Maintenance team, including recruitment, training and performance management.
  • Maintain the gardens, grounds and landscaping to a high standard.
  • Plan and manage preventative maintenance programs across resort facilities and accommodation.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors completing maintenance work on site.
  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of buildings, plant and equipment.
  • Maintain and service machinery, tools and vehicles across the property.
  • Monitor and maintain resort infrastructure, including water, wastewater and other essential systems.
  • Oversee pool testing and maintenance to ensure compliance and guest safety.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety procedures and safe work practices.
  • Work closely with Resort Management and other departments to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, supplies and equipment within operational guidelines.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call roster and attend callouts as required.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Previous experience in a similar grounds, maintenance or facilities management role.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and support a team.
  • Strong knowledge of gardening, landscaping and general property maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining machinery, tools and equipment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a guest-focused mindset.
  • Certificate III in Horticulture, Resort Operations or a relevant trade qualification (desirable).
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Willingness to obtain a National Police Check.
  • Availability to work weekends, public holidays and respond to occasional callouts.

What are we offering you?

  • Full-time permanent position.
  • Competitive salary package plus superannuation.
  • Opportunity to live and work in one of Western Australia's most iconic Southwest destinations.
  • On-site accommodation provided.
  • Cost of Police Check covered by RAC.
  • Supportive and inclusive team environment.
  • Opportunities to grow and develop your career with RAC.
  • Access to a range of RAC employee benefits and discounts.
