Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Grounds Keeper to maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of our outdoor spaces. In this vital role, you will be responsible for caring for athletic fields, landscaped areas, to ensure they are pristine, safe, and inviting. Your expertise in swimmimg pools, chemicals and landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, and groundskeeping equipment will help create an optimal environment for recreation and relaxation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize a variety of tools and machinery, and contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of our facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and planting to keep grounds vibrant and healthy
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, power tools, irrigation systems, and other landscaping machinery with a focus on safety and efficiency
• Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed to promote healthy growth
• Conduct athletic field groundskeeping tasks including aerating, fertilizing, seeding, and repairing turf areas to meet safety standards and aesthetic expectations
• Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting, planting, pruning, and debris removal using appropriate hand tools and safety procedures
• Apply pesticides or herbicides following proper protocols for pest management while adhering to environmental regulations
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of storage areas for tools and equipment; perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery

Qualifications

• Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance; golf course groundskeeping experience is a plus
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, pesticide management, lawn care techniques, and athletic field upkeep
• Ability to operate power tools safely including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment
• Strong manual handling skills with the physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Familiarity with company vehicle operation for transporting equipment or supplies around the site
• Understanding of safety protocols related to power tool operation, pesticide application, and equipment maintenance
• Excellent attention to detail coupled with a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of grounds quality
