Grounds Maintenance Apprentice

Job Summary

Highland Lawn and Landscaping is looking for a reliable, motivated Grounds Maintenance Apprentice who wants to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in landscaping.

You will work alongside an experienced Maintenance Crew Leader and crew while learning professional grounds maintenance, equipment care, jobsite standards, and customer property protection. No previous landscaping experience is required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, coachable, respectful, and ready to work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and materials for the workday.
• Support mowing, trimming, cleanup, and other grounds maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and property-protection standards.
• Participate in daily equipment checks.
• Keep jobsites, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow direction, ask questions, and apply coaching in the field.
• Represent Highland Lawn and Landscaping professionally with customers and teammates.

Career Growth

This role offers a clear path for advancement:

• Apprentice: $14–$15 per hour
• Groundskeeper: $15.50–$16.50 per hour
• Groundskeeper II: $16.50–$18 per hour
• Assistant Crew Lead: $19.50–$21 per hour
• Crew Lead: $21–$25 per hour

Advancement is based on performance, safety, coachability, reliability, and readiness for additional responsibility.
