Grounds Maintenance Worker

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated part-time Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, applying a range of skills in landscaping, horticulture, and general maintenance. Prior experience in landscape maintenance or construction is advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about outdoor work and environmental care.

Duties

• Conduct regular landscape maintenance including, but not limited to, mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, watering, leaf and litter clearance, low-level gutter and drain cleaning.
• Keeping the gardens and grounds tidy, safe and presentable to a high standard at all times.
• Operate and maintain various power tools such as trimmers, blowers, and lawnmowers efficiently and safely. Ensure all power tools and equipment relating to maintenance are clean and in good, safe working order.
• Prompt reporting of any issues such as pests, plant or tree health and damage to equipment or external building infrastructure.
• Identify and report any potential hazard within the estate grounds that could endanger staff or visitors wellbeing.
• Provide support to other maintenance functions with general tasks such as decorating, moving furniture, clearing offices etc.
• Maintain a good stock holding of consumable materials such as oils, fuel and spare parts.

Skills

• Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is desirable .
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Basic mechanical knowledge related to the operation and basic repair of power tools, hand tools, and machinery is advantageous.
• Ability to follow planned schedules.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining outdoor environments.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop capabilities to ensure safe operation of vehicles and power tools used to perform duties.

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
