POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time position, located at the Buena Vista Rancheria properties (Sacramento and Ione, CA), under the general direction of the Chief Operations Officer (COO). The Grounds Maintenance Worker will also work closely with the Reservation Manager. The Grounds Maintenance Worker, work exclusively on Tribal properties and will use various hand tools and gas-powered tools/equipment to maintain all properties in all weather conditions. This will include mowing and maintaining grass, rake leaves, trim bushes and trees, removing dead plants, water vegetation and preparing grounds for seasonal changes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Lawn and grounds care, mowing, edging, fertilizing, and watering lawns and gardens.

·         Vegetation management: pruning trees/shrubs, planting, and removing unwanted plants.

·         Grounds upkeep maintaining sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, and other hard-scape, landscape features.

·         Equipment use such as operating mowers, tractors, chainsaws, blowers, and irrigation systems.

·         Seasonal work may require some snow removal, winterizing irrigation, and spring setup.

·         Minor repairs will include may include fixing equipment, replacing damaged plants, irrigation systems, or repairing ground features.

• Help with preparations for Tribal events held on the Rancheria
• Collection and disposal of waste generated on the Rancheria
• Cultural resource monitoring as needed
• Ensures critical/emergency information is reported to the COO in a timely manner.
• Performing other duties assigned.
