Welcome! The Onondaga Central School District is located south of Syracuse in upstate New York nestled in a valley with rural surroundings. The district provides a tranquil environment in a picturesque setting, yet enjoys all the major cultural advantages of an urban area within a 20 minute drive. A staff of 175 full and part-time employees, three academic buildings, preschool, a transportation center, and administrative offices commonly serve an enrollment of approximately 725 students, Pre-Kindergarten to twelfth grade.

Please note: Immediate need for certified substitute teachers ($150/day) and substitute teaching assistants ($124/day).

Groundskeeper Onondaga is seeking a high motivated individual to join our team as a full-time groundskeeper. The work involves responsibility for performing unskilled and semi-skilled manual tasks in the maintenance of public grounds. Responsible for the general upkeep of the grounds including all road areas, athletic fields and play areas. Includes a variety of light and heavy manual labor tasks. Must have sufficient physical strength and agility to do heavy manual labor, occasionally under adverse weather conditions.

In addition, this position operates snow removal equipment and other related manual tasks during the winter. Must possess a valid NYS driver license.

This is a labor class civil service position that does not require a written exam.
