Groundskeeper

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and energetic Groundskeeper to maintain and enhance the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the upkeep of landscaped areas, and other grounds, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-maintained. Your efforts will contribute to providing a pristine environment for recreation, events, and everyday activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize a variety of tools and equipment, and make a tangible difference in the appearance and safety of our grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, trimming, planting, and fertilizing to keep grounds healthy and visually appealing
• Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, chainsaws, irrigation systems, and other landscaping machinery safely and efficiently
• Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting, manual handling of materials, and equipment setup for various maintenance activities
• Apply pesticides or herbicides following safety protocols to control pests and weeds effectively
• Perform routine inspections of grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and address them promptly
• Sweep and mop exterior hallways, walkways, and staircases to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Shampoo and clean carpets in rooms as needed.
• Collect and remove trash from guest areas, hallways, and exterior areas.
• Keep grounds, walkways, staircases, and common areas clean and free of debris.
• Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of the property as needed.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or property damage to management.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in groundskeeping or landscaping is preferred
• Proficiency in operating hand tools, power tools, heavy machinery such as chainsaws, and grounds maintenance equipment
• Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and repair as well as pesticide management practices
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the workday
• Commitment to safety procedures related to power tool operation and equipment maintenance
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for scheduling routine maintenance tasks

Pay: $16.90 - $17.90 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 39.0 per week
