Groundskeeper / Grounds Maintenance Technician

Overview

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Groundskeeper / Grounds Maintenance Technician to maintain a private agricultural property in the Hillsboro area.

The property includes lawns, landscaped areas, fields, a pond, barn and shop surroundings, paths, and other outdoor spaces.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in keeping a property attractive and well maintained and is comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning to keep outdoor areas healthy and attractive.
• Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, power tools, irrigation systems, and other landscaping machinery safely and efficiently.
• Install/ maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and adjusting schedules to ensure optimal watering of turf and plantings.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks involving soil, mulch, plants, or equipment using manual handling techniques to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Maintain equipment through routine inspections and basic repairs to ensure reliable operation during daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, golf course maintenance or athletic field care is preferred
• Knowledge of horticulture practices including lawn care, gardening, planting techniques, and landscape maintenance.
• Ability to operate power tools safely including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely throughout the workday.
• Valid driver’s license with experience operating tractor or grounds maintenance equipment is advantageous.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
