Position Summary

Eagle Healthcare Services is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on Facilities & Security Officer responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, security, appearance, and functionality of our Psychiatric Rehabilitation (PSR) facility and surrounding grounds.

This position combines property monitoring, preventative maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial services, basic handyman work, and daily facility operations. The ideal candidate takes ownership of the property's condition, identifies problems before they escalate, and works independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Property Security & Monitoring

  • Conduct and document scheduled patrols of building interiors, entrances, parking lots, grounds, and property boundaries.
  • Monitor and deter trespassing, loitering, vandalism, unauthorized parking, and illegal dumping.
  • Professionally request that unauthorized individuals leave private property when appropriate, using verbal de-escalation and contacting law enforcement when necessary.
  • Monitor doors, gates, locks, fencing, security lighting, and surveillance equipment.
  • Report suspicious behavior, safety hazards, property damage, and security incidents immediately.
  • Maintain safe entrances, walkways, and emergency access routes.
  • Assist with visitor direction and parking lot safety as needed.
  • Follow company safety, emergency response, and incident reporting procedures.

2. Groundskeeping & Exterior Maintenance

  • Maintain landscaping, lawns, sidewalks, parking areas, and outdoor recreational spaces.
  • Remove trash, leaves, weeds, debris, and other unsightly materials daily.
  • Set up and secure picnic table umbrellas each morning; close, remove, and properly store them each afternoon.
  • Maintain outdoor seating, picnic tables, trash receptacles, and other property furnishings.
  • Perform mowing, trimming, edging, pressure washing, and other routine grounds maintenance.
  • Monitor drainage, fencing, exterior lighting, pavement, and landscaping for maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary dumpster and waste collection areas.

3. Interior Cleaning & Custodial Services

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, hallways, entrances, common areas, and designated activity spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash, and replenish cleaning supplies.
  • Address spills, sanitation issues, and unexpected cleaning needs promptly.
  • Keep storage areas, maintenance closets, and supply rooms clean and organized.
  • Support setup and breakdown of workshops, special events, classrooms, and recreational activities.

4. General Maintenance & Handyman Duties

  • Complete minor plumbing, painting, furniture repairs, assembly, fixture replacement, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect and maintain doors, locks, hinges, lighting, furniture, and other building components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections to identify developing problems.
  • Report major repairs and coordinate with approved contractors when directed.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, supplies, and maintenance equipment.
  • Perform only repairs within demonstrated competency and applicable licensing requirements.

5. Company Vehicle, Trailer & Equipment

  • Operate an assigned company vehicle and utility trailer for authorized business purposes.
  • Transport maintenance supplies, tools, landscaping equipment, and debris.
  • Perform daily vehicle and trailer safety inspections.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues.
  • Secure and properly maintain all company tools, equipment, and supplies.

Required Daily Operating Procedures

Morning Opening Checklist

  • Complete an initial security patrol of building perimeter, parking areas, and entrances.
  • Check for overnight vandalism, trespassing, illegal dumping, and safety hazards.
  • Inspect doors, locks, fencing, and exterior lighting.
  • Remove litter and debris from entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor seating areas.
  • Set up and secure all picnic table umbrellas, weather permitting.
  • Inspect and prepare bathrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces.
  • Verify trash receptacles are emptied and cleaning supplies are stocked.
  • Document unresolved issues and notify management.

Daily Property Patrols

  • Complete and log property patrols at opening, at designated intervals during operating hours, and at closing.
  • Check parking areas, sidewalks, property boundaries, outdoor gathering areas, and entrances.
  • Monitor for unauthorized individuals, hazardous conditions, and property damage.
  • Document time, areas inspected, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Immediately escalate serious incidents or emergencies to management.

Afternoon Closing Checklist

  • Remove trash, litter, and debris from designated interior and exterior areas.
  • Close and properly store picnic umbrellas and secure outdoor furnishings.
  • Inspect bathrooms, common spaces, and designated work areas.
  • Return tools, equipment, and supplies to secure storage.
  • Inspect doors, gates, exterior areas, and designated access points.
  • Complete the final property patrol.
  • Submit the daily checklist and report unresolved maintenance or security issues.
