About the role

Wallaroo Beach Front Tourist Park is seeking a Groundsman/Handyman to join our team on a casual basis. This role is essential to maintaining the visual appeal and functionality of our tourism facilities and grounds. As a Groundsman/Handyman, you will play a vital role in ensuring our properties remain in excellent condition, contributing directly to the positive experience of our guests and the smooth operation of our business. This position offers flexibility with casual work arrangements, 3-4 days a week min 20hrs per week making it ideal for someone seeking variable hours.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and landscape grounds including lawn mowing, garden bed upkeep, weeding and general tidiness of outdoor areas
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs and general upkeep of buildings and facilities
• Conduct basic plumbing and electrical repairs as required
• Maintain outdoor furniture, fixtures and fittings in good working order
• Operate and maintain gardening and maintenance equipment safely and appropriately
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address issues as they arise
• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained across all work areas
• Support the team with ad-hoc tasks to support tourism operations and guest satisfaction

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in groundskeeping, landscaping or general handyman work
• Competency in using gardening and maintenance equipment safely and effectively
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical repairs and general maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work
• Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with the team
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions
• Current driver's licence (desirable)
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in horticulture, landscaping or maintenance (desirable)
