Groundworker

Location: Redditch & Bromsgrove
Pay: £35k-40k direct, £160 to £200 per day subcontract, Price Work also available.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Hardyman & Co Ltd is looking for an experienced Groundworker to undertake projects across Redditch and Bromsgrove.

The role will involve completing a range of groundwork and external works safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. You must be comfortable working independently and alongside other trades in both occupied and unoccupied domestic properties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lay concrete foundations, bases and slabs
• Complete paving, slabbing, kerbing and edging
• Repair and install paths, steps, patios and hardstanding areas
• Undertake brickwork and blockwork associated with groundwork projects
• Complete fencing and other external works where required
• Operate relevant hand tools, power tools and plant safely
• Read and work from drawings, specifications and job sheets
• Identify underground services and follow safe digging procedures
• Report defects, additional work and site concerns promptly
• Protect customers’ homes, gardens and surrounding areas
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and secure
• Complete work within agreed timescales
• Follow all company health and safety procedures

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will:

• Have proven experience as a Groundworker
• Be competent in concreting, paving and general external works
• Understand safe excavation and ground preparation methods
• Produce high-quality work with excellent attention to detail
• Be able to assess work and identify the correct course of action
• Be reliable, organised and able to manage their workload
• Communicate professionally with customers, residents and colleagues
• Be able to work independently and as part of a wider team
• Be physically capable of undertaking a demanding role

It would be advantageous to have:

• A valid CSCS card
• Relevant groundwork or construction qualifications
• Plant operator qualifications or tickets
• Asbestos Awareness and other relevant health and safety training
• Experience working in social housing or domestic properties
