Groundworker / Plant Machinery Operator – Galway

We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworker / Plant Machinery Operator for a new shopping mall construction project in Galway. The successful candidate will assist with site preparation, excavation, foundations and general groundworks while operating plant machinery safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out excavation, trenching, drainage and ground preparation for the new shopping mall development.
• Operate plant machinery, including diggers and other construction equipment, as required.
• Assist with foundation works, ducting, pipe laying, levelling and concrete preparation.
• Support site infrastructure works, including access roads, service trenches and external groundworks.
• Follow construction drawings, site instructions and health and safety procedures.
• Complete daily machinery checks and report any defects.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Coordinate with site managers, engineers and other construction trades to ensure work progresses efficiently.

Requirements

• Previous experience in groundworks and plant machinery operation on construction sites.
• Relevant plant machinery tickets or certifications, where required.
• Knowledge of excavation, drainage and general civil construction works.
• Good understanding of construction site health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach to work.
