Skilled Groundworker – Roads & Sewers

We are looking for an experienced Skilled Groundworker to join our roads and sewers team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This position is specifically for someone with proven roads and sewers experience. Applicants must be experienced as either a Pipe Layer or 360 Excavator Operator (above and below 10 tonnes) and be comfortable working as part of an experienced civils gang.

The Role

Duties will include:

• Mainline foul and storm drainage
• Deep drainage and pipe laying
• Manhole construction, benching and finishing
• Drainage connections
• Road construction and formation
• Kerbing and edging
• Stoning up and preparation for surfacing
• General roads and sewers groundworks
• Operating plant where competent and ticketed
• Working safely around excavations, underground services and heavy plant

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Proven experience working on roads and sewers projects
• Experience as either a Skilled Pipe Layer or 360 Excavator Operator – above and below 10 tonnes
• Valid CPCS or NPORS plant tickets
• Dumper and/or Roller ticket
• Good understanding of drainage and road construction
• Ability to work effectively as part of a gang
• Good attitude towards health & safety and quality
• Reliability and a strong work ethic

General groundworking experience without roads and sewers experience will not be sufficient for this position.
