Position: Group Applications Support Officer
Location: IDX New Zealand
Reports to: Group Application Team Lead NZ

About the Role

We are currently seeking applications from both internal and external candidates for the position of Group Applications Support Officer.

This role plays a key part in supporting, maintaining, and optimising our RIS PACS application environment to ensure it meets the operational needs of our imaging services across the group. The successful candidate will work closely with clinical, technical, and administrative teams to ensure the PACS environment is reliable, efficient, and user-friendly, while contributing to ongoing system enhancements, troubleshooting, and support initiatives.

This role is ideally suited to someone with an IT support, applications support, systems administration, or healthcare technology background who enjoys solving technical problems and working with a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level application support for RIS PACS across IDX NZ.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software, system, and user-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor application performance and assist with system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Support integrations between RIS PACS and other clinical and business systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors, infrastructure teams, IT support teams, and site staff to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and application configuration where required.
  • Assist with user training, onboarding, and the development of support documentation.
  • Participate in testing, implementation, and deployment of new functionality and system improvements.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to optimise workflows and system usage.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge resources.

Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in IT support, application support, systems administration, or a related technical role.
  • Has experience supporting business-critical applications within a healthcare or enterprise environment.
  • Has a strong understanding of RIS PACS workflows, or the ability to quickly learn healthcare imaging systems.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of Windows environments, networking fundamentals, and system integrations.
  • Has experience troubleshooting software, application, and end-user issues.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Has strong communication skills and can effectively translate technical information for non-technical users.
  • Can work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Is adaptable, proactive, and keen to learn new technologies, applications, and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT qualification, certification, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with healthcare applications, RIS, PACS, HL7, DICOM, or related imaging systems.
  • Experience working with service desk ticketing systems and ITIL-based support practices.
  • Experience supporting application implementations, upgrades, or system integration projects.

Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to:

  • Expand your technical and applications expertise.
  • Work closely with our Group IT and imaging teams.
  • Contribute to critical healthcare technology that supports patient care.
  • Gain exposure to specialised healthcare systems and technologies.
  • Build your experience in application support, system administration, and healthcare IT.
  • Grow your career within IDX New Zealand
