Group Contracts & Commercial Manager

An ASX listed gold developer is advancing one of Western Australia's most significant new gold projects toward a final investment decision and construction. With funding and delivery firmly in focus, the business is appointing a senior commercial leader to set the contracting and commercial direction for the group as it transitions from developer to producer.

The role

This is a senior, group level role with broad commercial accountability. You will lead the contracts and commercial function across the business, setting strategy, building the team and taking ownership of the agreements that will underpin construction and future operations. You will work closely with the executive team and board on key commercial decisions, and be a trusted voice on risk, value and deal structure.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting the group's contracting and procurement strategy for the development and operating phases
• Leading the negotiation of major agreements including EPC/EPCM, mining services, power, accommodation, logistics and key supply contracts
• Supporting project financing with commercial input, contract due diligence and lender requirements
• Building and leading a capable contracts and commercial team, along with the systems, policies and governance to support it
• Providing commercial advice to the executive and board on major decisions, risk allocation and value
• Managing key contractor and supplier relationships at a senior level

About you

• Senior contracts or commercial leadership experience in mining, resources or major infrastructure
• Proven track record negotiating major contracts on a project moving through FID, construction and into production
• Exposure to project finance processes and the commercial demands of lenders
• Strong judgement and presence, comfortable influencing at executive and board level
• Experience building teams and commercial frameworks in a growing business
• Tertiary qualifications in law, engineering, commerce or a related discipline
