Compensation: Salary or Hourly Direct Hire Salary – $135,000-$160,000

Client Overview:

Vernovis partnering with a multi-location organization seeking an experienced Group Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and financial performance across its companies and locations.

What You'll Do:

• Oversee accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple company locations.
• Prepare and distribute consolidated financial statements, monthly reporting packages, and financial analysis for management and the parent company.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor performance against plan, and provide insights to support strategic business decisions.
• Establish, maintain, and monitor financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and safeguards over company assets.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, physical inventory counts, debt covenant compliance, fixed-charge calculations, and other key financial activities.
• Manage external audit preparation, quarterly reviews, corporate tax reporting, and relationships with auditors, tax advisers, bankers, and other external partners.
• Provide leadership and financial oversight to location Controllers and accounting teams, including training, performance management, recruiting, and team development.
• Partner closely with the CFO and other business leaders to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, profitability, and overall financial strategy.

What Experience You'll Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Active CPA certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit processes.
• Experience leading accounting and finance functions across multiple entities, companies, or locations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills with demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication abilities.

What Experience is Nice to Have:

• Experience managing and developing Controllers or other accounting and finance professionals.
• Experience with multi-location or consolidated financial reporting, intercompany eliminations, inventory accounting, and debt covenant compliance.
• Experience partnering directly with CFO-level leadership and external auditors, tax advisers, bankers, and other financial stakeholders.
