Group Director of Engineering

About the Role

Are you an experienced engineering executive ready to direct technical operations and capital investment strategies for a leading luxury hospitality group in Greece?

We are seeking a Group Director of Engineering to lead multi-property facilities management, major renovation projects, and sustainability initiatives across an expanding portfolio of high-end beachfront resorts and urban properties. Operating within a collaborative and growth-driven corporate environment, this role offers strategic influence, high autonomy, and the opportunity to elevate technical standards across iconic hospitality assets.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing the group's engineering strategy, technical governance, and operational standards across all business units.
• Directing the annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets, overseeing new developments, expansions, and major infrastructure refurbishments.
• Establishing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and asset longevity.
• Leading strategic engineering procurement, contractor selection, supplier contract negotiations, and service level agreement (SLA) management.
• Ensuring complete regulatory compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards and technical licensing across all properties.
• Driving digital transformation in engineering through smart building systems, BMS, CMMS, and energy efficiency programs.
• Mentoring and leading departmental heads in maintenance, construction projects, procurement, and technical compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
• Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Business Administration, or Project Management
• Extensive experience in managing engineering projects, maintenance, and facility management
• Excellent command of English and Greek, written and spoken
• Strong technical proficiency in CMMS, BMS, CAFM, and digital asset management systems
• Deep working knowledge of OPEX/CAPEX forecasting, HSE regulations, and energy management principles
• Willingness to relocate to Rhodes (with provided accommodation) and travel occasionally to Athens
