About Hoppi
Hoppi is a fast-growing premium baby care brand focused on diapers and wipes, with operations across multiple international markets. The Group currently operates through entities in Singapore, Malaysia, China and the United States, with teams across Kuala Lumpur, Hangzhou and the U.S.
Our current annual revenue is in the 8-figure USD range, with plans to scale toward the 9-figure USD range.
As the business scales, we are building a stronger finance organisation in Kuala Lumpur to support better cash control, profitability, decision-making and international expansion.
We are looking for a Group Finance Manager / Finance Business Partner who can help build this foundation and grow together with the Group.
Role Mission
The purpose of this role is to help transform Finance from a traditional accounting function into a management, planning and decision-support function.
You will work closely with the Founder, business leaders, supply chain and regional teams to provide clear visibility on: Revenue, profitability, cash flow, working capital, inventory, budget performance and business risks.
This is not a pure reporting or bookkeeping role. We are looking for someone who understands the business behind the numbers, identifies issues early and helps management make better decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Coordinate monthly closing across Singapore, Malaysia, China and U.S. entities
- Prepare consolidated Group management accounts
- Ensure consistent chart of accounts, accounting policies and reporting standards across entities
- Review P&L, balance sheet and cash flow accuracy
- Work with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and corporate service providers
- Improve month-end closing speed and reporting quality
- Support annual audit and statutory reporting requirements
2. FP&A and Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly management reports for the Founder and management team
- Build country, channel and SKU-level profitability reporting
- Analyse actual performance versus budget and forecast
- Identify revenue, gross margin, contribution margin and operating expense variances
- Prepare rolling forecasts and scenario analysis
- Support annual budgeting and business planning
- Translate financial data into clear business actions and recommendations
The role should help management answer questions such as:
- Which market is actually profitable?
- Which channel is growing but consuming too much cash?
- Which SKU generates revenue but weak contribution margin?
- How much cash is required to support the next stage of growth?
3. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Build and maintain a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast
- Monitor bank balances, collections, supplier payments and cash requirements
- Manage AP and AR ageing
- Work with supply chain teams on purchase commitments, inventory and supplier payment schedules
- Identify liquidity risks early and recommend actions
- Improve cash conversion cycle and working capital efficiency
- Support banking facilities and working capital financing when required
4. Inventory & Supply Chain Finance
- Monitor inventory value, ageing and turnover
- Work with the Hangzhou supply chain team on purchase plans and stock forecasts
- Track inventory by market, warehouse and channel
- Analyse slow-moving and excess inventory
- Support landed cost and product costing
- Review freight, warehousing, duties and fulfilment costs
- Build better visibility between inventory, cash and profitability
5. Commercial Finance / Business Partnering
- Partner with SEA commercial and marketing teams on P&L performance
- Support U.S. business investment decisions and growth planning
- Evaluate promotion, pricing, channel and marketing ROI
- Review business cases before major spending decisions
- Help business teams understand financial impact before committing resources
- Challenge assumptions when investment returns are unclear
- Support management in capital allocation across different markets
Finance should not only report what happened. This role is expected to help answer: What should we do next, and what will it cost?
6. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate the Group annual budget process
- Build 12–18 month rolling forecasts
- Review monthly performance against plan
- Work with market owners to update assumptions
- Build scenario models for revenue, margin and cash
- Support management with base, upside and downside planning
7. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Improve approval workflows, payment controls and expense policies
- Establish clear authority matrix and financial SOPs
- Strengthen controls around supplier payments, inventory, purchase orders and reimbursements
- Reduce unnecessary manual work and spreadsheet dependency
- Support ERP/accounting system improvements
- Help build a Finance function that can scale with the business
8. Tax, Transfer Pricing & Cross-Border Coordination
- Coordinate with external advisers on Malaysia, Singapore, China and U.S. tax matters
- Support intercompany reconciliation
- Assist with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany arrangements
- Monitor GST/SST/VAT/Sales Tax and other indirect tax requirements
- Ensure major cross-border transactions are properly documented
- Support Group tax planning under guidance from external advisers and senior Finance leadership
- This role is not expected to be the Group tax expert, but should understand the commercial implications of cross-border transactions.
9. Team Management
- Supervise and develop accounting / AP / AR team members
- Improve team discipline, closing schedules and reporting quality
- Establish clear responsibilities and KPIs
- Coach junior Finance staff toward stronger analytical and commercial capabilities
- Support the future development of the Kuala Lumpur Group Finance team
