Group Financial Controller, Commodities - Mauritius

We are partnering with our client, a dynamic commodities-focused organisation based in Mauritius, to appoint a Group Financial Controller. This permanent, hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days from home) will see you overseeing multi-jurisdictional finance operations across Mauritius, Canada, and Africa while providing leadership to two remote accounting officers and playing a pivotal role in the growth and integrity of our client's financial function.

Key Skills and Experience

• Multi-entity and cross-border accounting - managing complex structures and consolidations across several countries and legal entities.
• Physical commodities, trading or import/export - understanding trading flows, margins and risks inherent in commodity operations.
• Inventory and shipment accounting - controlling stock movements, shipment costs and ensuring accurate valuation.
• Foreign currencies and intercompany accounting - handling FX transactions, translations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Trade finance or borrowing-base reporting - working with banks on trade facilities and preparing accurate collateral reports.
• Audit preparation and tax-compliance coordination - leading year-end processes and liaising with auditors and tax advisors.
• QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel - leveraging systems and spreadsheets to drive efficient, insightful reporting.
• Fluent written and spoken French and English - communicating effectively across our client's international team and stakeholders.
• Ideally you will have experience with OHADA and Canadian GAAP Mauritius GAAP - navigating regional and local accounting standards
• ACCA, ACA, CMA or CPA qualified with a minimum of 7 years previous accounting experience.
• Fluent French and English written and spoken is essential, any other languages would be beneficial
