Group Financial Controller - PE backed SaaS

Group Financial Controller | Sydney
Our client is a PE-backed SaaS company with a mix of recurring, transactional and project-based revenue. They need a technically strong Group Financial Controller to own reporting and control across the group and make sure the board and investors get numbers they can trust. There’s real scope to shape how finance runs as the business scales.

The role

• Run month-end close, group consolidation, statutory reporting and the annual audit
• Prepare monthly board and PE sponsor reporting packs
• Manage AASB 15 revenue recognition across multiple revenue streams, plus capitalised development costs and R&D Tax Incentive claims
• Own the budget, forecasts and cash flow forecasting and support due diligence and data rooms for funding or M&A activity
• Track and report on key SaaS metrics, including revenue growth, gross margin and customer retention
• Strengthen the control environment as headcount and transaction volumes grow
• Lead the move to a scalable ERP and automate reporting to cut manual work
• Build and develop a small finance team

About you

• CA or CPA qualified
• Big 4 trained
• 8+ years post-qualification, with experience leading a team
• SaaS experience in a start-up or scale-up, with a track record of building finance processes as the business grows
• Group reporting and consolidation experience in a PE or VC-backed business
• Solid technical knowledge of AASB 15, capitalised development costs and R&D Tax Incentive claims
• A finance system migration or upgrade under your belt
• Hands-on and pragmatic, comfortable rolling up your sleeves
