What they need

Help shape the financial future of a growing global business.

At ZIWI, we’re on an exciting journey of global growth, taking New Zealand’s premium pet nutrition to the world. As a leader in air-dried pet nutrition, we’re focused on building a sustainable, high-performing business with ambitious plans for the future.

To support this next stage of growth, we’re seeking a commercially minded Group FP&A Manager who can connect financial performance with business strategy. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys asking the right questions, uncovering opportunities and helping leaders make smarter, more informed decisions.

Reporting to the Global Head of Commercial Finance, and based in our Parnell Office, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing a consolidated view of Group performance, bringing financial insight and commercial challenge to decision-making across our international operations.

From leading the Group planning cycle to evaluating strategic investments, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to understand what’s driving performance, where opportunities exist and how we can deliver stronger business outcomes.

What you'll be doing

You’ll take ownership of Group financial planning and analysis, ensuring our leaders have the information, insight and forward-looking perspective they need to steer the business.

Your key areas of focus will include:

  • Group planning and forecasting: Lead weekly flash reporting, monthly estimates, quarterly forecasts and annual budgeting across the Group.
  • Financial performance: Consolidate Group results and provide a clear view of performance across the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Cost and profitability: Lead analysis of Group SG&A, identifying cost efficiencies and opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
  • Commercial insight: Translate financial data into meaningful commentary, performance measures and actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Strategic decision support: Build financial models, scenario analyses and business cases to evaluate investments, new products, projects and expansion opportunities.
  • Business partnering: Work alongside leaders across Finance, HR, IT, Legal and other functions to challenge assumptions, assess trade-offs and support effective resource allocation.
  • Executive and external reporting: Contribute to Board, investor, banking and senior leadership reporting requirements.
  • Continuous improvement: Strengthen FP&A processes, reporting, systems and analytics to improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of financial decision-making.
  • Finance collaboration: Partner with the wider Finance team to maintain consistent methodologies, planning assumptions and a reliable view of Group performance.

What you'll bring

You’re a strategic finance professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial curiosity. You’re comfortable working with complex financial information, but your real strength lies in understanding what it means for the business and influencing what happens next.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance or strategic financial planning.
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills.
  • Experience supporting a complex, multi-entity or international business.
  • A sound understanding of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • The ability to connect financial results with operational performance and broader business strategy.
  • Confidence partnering with senior leaders, constructively challenging assumptions and influencing decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make complex financial information accessible and relevant.
  • A proactive, inquisitive approach and the confidence to investigate the drivers behind performance.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in developing better processes, systems and reporting capabilities.

Why join ZIWI?

This is more than a traditional financial planning role. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how a global business plans, invests and grows.

At ZIWI, you’ll work with senior leaders across the Group, gain exposure to significant commercial and strategic decisions, and help shape the financial discipline needed to support our next phase of expansion.

If you enjoy combining analytical rigour with commercial thinking, thrive on solving complex business challenges and want your work to make a tangible difference, we’d love to hear from you.
