Group Head of Technology

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Group Head of Technology to lead our Group’s technology strategy, digital transformation and technology-enabled operational excellence across Asia.

This is a senior Group leadership role responsible for aligning technology strategy, platforms, infrastructure and shared technology services with the Group’s business growth and regional expansion. The role will provide leadership across technology, internal IT, cloud and infrastructure, enterprise platforms, technology governance, cybersecurity coordination, service delivery, shared services, AI and automation.

The successful candidate will work closely with Group Management and business leaders to build scalable technology capabilities, strengthen operational efficiency and governance, and drive the adoption of AI, automation, cloud and emerging technologies across the Group.

The role has a regional Asia remit and will work closely with Group companies, business teams, customers, partners and vendors across multiple markets, supporting the Group’s continued regional growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Group’s technology strategy and roadmap across Asia, ensuring alignment with business strategy, growth priorities and regional expansion.

• Serve as a key technology advisor to Group Management, translating business objectives into technology priorities, investment plans, transformation initiatives and measurable outcomes.

• Lead the development of a scalable Group technology architecture and operating model that supports multiple companies, business units and locations across Asia.

• Provide leadership and governance for internal IT, infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, workplace technology, identity and access management, IT service management and related shared technology services.

• Drive the Group’s digital transformation agenda through Generative AI, AI Agents, automation, cloud, data and other emerging technologies.

• Identify and prioritise opportunities to use AI and automation to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, strengthen controls and improve employee, customer and operational experience.

• Lead the technology enablement and continuous improvement of the Group’s Asia shared-services model, driving standardisation, scalability, efficiency, service quality and transparency.

• Establish appropriate technology policies, architecture principles, governance standards, SOPs, SLAs, KPIs, escalation mechanisms and performance management frameworks.

• Provide senior leadership and oversight of strategic technology programmes, including cloud transformation, infrastructure modernisation, enterprise applications, system integration, data, AI and automation initiatives.

• Work closely with AI, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Solution, Project Management and Service Delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle, from strategy and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment and operational transition.

• Ensure technology solutions and platforms are secure, scalable, reliable, supportable and commercially appropriate throughout their lifecycle.

• Work closely with cybersecurity and compliance leadership to maintain effective technology risk, cybersecurity, privacy, data protection, business continuity and operational resilience frameworks.

• Promote the responsible and secure adoption of AI, including appropriate governance, data protection, human oversight, intellectual property considerations and risk controls.

• Oversee technology risk management, access governance, technology asset management, backup, resilience, incident management and remediation of technology-related audit findings.

• Lead technology vendor strategy, selection, commercial evaluation, contract governance, licensing and performance management in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Develop and manage technology and shared-services budgets, investment plans, forecasts and cost-optimisation initiatives.

• Support Group Management and business leaders on major customer engagements, strategic partnerships, new-market entry and technology-related investment decisions.

• Provide senior sponsorship and governance for selected strategic customer or internal transformation projects where technology leadership is required.

• Build and develop high-performing regional technology and shared-services teams, establishing clear accountability, succession planning and capability-development priorities.

• Partner with HR and management on workforce planning, organisational design, leadership development and talent strategy for technology-related functions.

• Collaborate with Group companies and teams across Asia, taking into consideration different business requirements, regulatory environments, market conditions and operating practices while maintaining consistent Group technology standards and governance.

• Travel within Asia as required for management meetings, customer engagements, projects, business reviews, audits, regional transformation initiatives and other business requirements.

• Keep abreast of developments in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, AI Agents, cloud, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, automation and digital transformation, and recommend appropriate technologies for Group adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline. A master’s degree, MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
• Typically, 15 years or above of progressive experience in technology, IT, digital transformation, service delivery and/or technology-enabled operations, including substantial senior leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading technology functions across multiple markets, preferably within Asia or a regional/shared-services environment.
• Strong experience in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, cloud, infrastructure, enterprise applications, IT service management, digital transformation, automation and technology governance.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, AI Agents and enterprise automation, with the ability to identify practical use cases and balance innovation with governance, security and risk.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity, technology risk, data protection, business continuity, operational resilience and regulatory requirements.
• Proven track record in leading large-scale technology or transformation programmes and translating strategy into executable roadmaps and measurable business outcomes.
• Experience establishing or improving regional shared services, IT service management, SLAs, KPIs, governance and operational processes is highly desirable.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including technology budgeting, business cases, investment planning, vendor management, contract negotiation and cost optimisation.
• Experience in a System Integrator (SI), technology consulting, managed services, cloud, cybersecurity or professional services environment is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, change management, communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Group Management, business leaders, technical teams, customers, partners and vendors, and to translate complex technology matters into clear business implications and recommendations.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with multicultural, geographically distributed teams across different markets, with the flexibility and cultural awareness required to operate effectively in a regional environment.
• Regional exposure or experience working with businesses, teams, customers or projects across Asia is highly desirable.
• Able and willing to travel within Asia as required.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, with strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior management, customers, partners and multicultural teams across Asia. Proficiency in additional Asian languages is an advantage but not essential.
• Relevant professional certifications in Cloud, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, IT Service Management, Project/Programme Management, Governance or Risk would be an advantage.
