Limitless Martial Arts is looking for energetic, dependable, and positive Martial Arts After School Group Leaders to join our new after-school program launching in January 2027.

We are a veteran-owned, locally operated martial arts school serving Venice and the surrounding area. Our after-school program combines structured supervision with martial arts training, games, activities, homework/quiet time, and plenty of movement.

No martial arts experience is required — training will be provided.

This is a great part-time opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with kids and wants an active job where every day is a little different.

Schedule

Monday–Friday
Approximately 3:30 PM–6:00 PM

Applicants should have consistent weekday afternoon availability during these hours.

Additional hours may also be available during:

  • School holidays
  • Day Camps
  • Teacher workdays and other school closures
  • Summer Camps

Employees interested in additional hours may have opportunities to continue working with us throughout the summer.

What You'll Do

Each Group Leader will typically be responsible for supervising and engaging a small group of approximately 5–10 students.

Your primary responsibility will always be maintaining a safe, positive, structured, and fun environment for the children in your group.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and actively engage a group of approximately 5–10 students
  • Maintain awareness of your assigned students and ensure program safety rules are followed
  • Help keep students organized and on schedule throughout the afternoon
  • Lead games, activities, group challenges, and movement-based activities
  • Assist with homework or quiet study time when needed
  • Help students transition between activities and martial arts classes
  • Hold kicking and punching pads for students during martial arts activities
  • Guide students through basic instructor-directed punches, kicks, drills, and movement exercises after completing staff training
  • Encourage students and reinforce positive behavior
  • Assist martial arts instructors during class
  • Help with student arrival and parent pickup
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, instructors, and fellow staff members

Studio Responsibilities

Group Leaders also help us maintain a clean, organized, professional environment.

Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Routine restroom checks and light cleaning/sanitation
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Cleaning mirrors
  • Emptying trash
  • Putting away martial arts pads and equipment
  • Organizing activity areas
  • Helping reset the studio at the end of the day

Supervision and safety of students always come first.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Be CPR certified or willing to obtain CPR certification prior to starting
  • Successfully complete a background check
  • Successfully complete a drug screening
  • Be dependable and punctual
  • Be comfortable working with groups of children
  • Be energetic, patient, positive, and responsible
  • Be able to give clear directions and maintain appropriate boundaries with children
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be comfortable participating in physical activities
  • Be willing to learn basic martial arts drills and terminology
  • Work well as part of a team

A valid driver's license is preferred.

Previous experience working with children through camps, schools, sports, coaching, childcare, babysitting, recreation programs, martial arts, or similar environments is preferred but not required.

No Martial Arts Experience Required

You do not need to be a martial artist or have previous Taekwondo experience to apply.

We will train Group Leaders on the basic martial arts activities they will assist with, including:

  • Properly holding kicking and punching pads
  • Basic punches and kicks
  • Safe spacing and positioning
  • Leading instructor-directed drills
  • Martial arts class expectations and terminology

Group Leaders will assist our martial arts instructors and reinforce the curriculum being taught. They will not be expected to independently teach advanced martial arts techniques.

Who We're Looking For

The right person for this position is someone who:

  • Is genuinely great with kids
  • Enjoys being active
  • Can be fun while still maintaining structure and boundaries
  • Can confidently lead a small group
  • Takes children's safety seriously
  • Is patient and able to redirect behavior appropriately
  • Isn't afraid to jump into a game, hold a kicking pad, or help with an activity
