Group Management Accountant

Spa World, part of the global Jacuzzi Brands network, is one of Australasia’s leading spa and wellness retailers, with showrooms across New Zealand and Australia and four decades in the business. We sell spa pools, swim spas, saunas and outdoor living products. Our finance team runs the group from Nelson: entities on both sides of the Tasman, reporting to our US parent.

As our Group Management Accountant, you will report to the Head of Finance and own month-end and day-to-day management accounting for our NZ and Australian entities: month-end journals, reconciliations, management reporting and analysis, GST and BAS, income tax, fixed assets, leases and payroll review. You will work with our external auditors and tax advisers, and you will oversee our AP and AR team of three. You will also own our finance systems. That means Pronto, our ERP, and the automation we are bringing in: invoice capture, PO workflow and automated bank feeds. You will pick apart our manual processes, build the controls into the new ones and get the team working on exceptions rather than data entry. If you like leaving a finance function better than you found it, this is your role.

About you:

• Three or more years in a management accounting, financial accounting or senior accountant role.
• You have owned a month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• CA or CPA qualified, or close to it. If you have strong hands-on experience without the qualification, we still want to hear from you.
• Tax compliance experience, including GST and income tax, and a strong grasp of NZ IFRS and financial reporting. Australian BAS and multi-entity experience are a bonus.
• You have owned or administered an ERP system. Pronto experience is a plus, strong Excel skills are a must, and you are curious about using AI tools to work smarter.
• You have supervised a small team, or you are ready to.
• You have improved or automated a finance process before, and you can tell us how.
• You are detail-driven, you communicate clearly, and you like working with people across the business.
