What they need

Group Operations Manager

London | £70,000 - £75,000 + Uncapped Performance Bonus | Full-Time

We are recruiting a Group Operations Manager for an independent brewery and pub group with four established sites across East London.

This is an opportunity to join an owner-led business with a strong identity, a loyal customer base and plans for further growth. You will work directly with the owner, taking responsibility for operational performance, developing General Managers and driving commercial results across the estate.

The business needs a hands-on operator who can refine existing systems, improve standards and identify opportunities to grow the business without losing what makes each venue unique.

The Role

As Group Operations Manager, you will oversee four individual venues, taking ownership of their day-to-day performance, financial results and operational standards.

You will balance strategic planning with a visible presence on the ground, supporting your General Managers, solving problems and ensuring each site reaches its commercial potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing operations, service standards and commercial performance across all four sites.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing General Managers to improve leadership and accountability.
  • Managing budgets, sales forecasts, labour costs, stock control and gross profit.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through drinks sales, events, private hire and local partnerships.
  • Monitoring KPIs, reviewing performance against budgets and implementing clear action plans.
  • Maintaining licensing, health and safety, food hygiene and employment compliance.
  • Managing suppliers, facilities, maintenance and capital expenditure projects.
  • Developing practical operating procedures and consistent standards across the group.
  • Working with the marketing team to deliver local promotions, events and initiatives that increase footfall.
  • Building relationships with local businesses, councils and other stakeholders.
  • Working directly with the owner on commercial strategy, site development and future expansion.
  • Supporting new site opportunities, including feasibility assessments and lease negotiations.

About You

You are a commercially minded hospitality operator who enjoys taking ownership and getting things done.

You will ideally bring:

  • A strong background in wet-led pubs, bars or brewery-led hospitality.
  • Proven multi-site operations management experience.
  • Experience working within an established hospitality group, with a good understanding of budgets, KPIs and structured operations.
  • A track record of improving profitability, controlling costs and increasing revenue.
  • The ability to coach and develop General Managers rather than micromanage them.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to leadership and problem-solving.
  • The confidence to make decisions independently in a fast-moving, owner-led environment.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to recognise opportunities and turn them into commercial results.

The Working Environment

This is an independent business where decisions are made quickly and people are expected to take responsibility.

You will have direct access to the owner and the opportunity to influence how the group develops. The expectation is that you will build on the existing business model, strengthen operations and help prepare the group for its next stage of growth.

You should be comfortable leading from the front, supporting your teams when needed and maintaining high standards without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic salary of approximately £70,000 - £75,000.
  • Uncapped performance-related bonus linked to EBITDA.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Direct access to the owner and involvement in commercial decision-making.
  • Exposure to future site acquisitions, lease negotiations and expansion projects.

The Opportunity

This role would suit an ambitious Operations Manager or an established Group Operations Manager looking for greater autonomy, direct ownership of commercial results and the chance to help grow an independent hospitality group.

If you have a strong wet-led background, know how to get the best out of General Managers and want to make a measurable impact on a growing business, we would like to hear from you.

Other offers great for you!
