GROUP PURCHASING MANAGER
Full-Time, Permanent — Rarotonga, Cook Islands
Are you a sharp, hands-on procurement professional who thrives on getting the best deal, the best supplier, and the best result for the business? Island Hotels Limited is looking for a Group Purchasing Manager to take the lead on procurement across our two iconic Rarotonga properties, The Edgewater Resort & Spa and Club Raro Resort.
About Us
Island Hotels Limited is one of the Cook Islands' leading hospitality groups, home to The Edgewater Resort & Spa and Club Raro Resort. We're proud of our people, our guest experience, and our island way of doing business — and we're now investing in a dedicated, group-wide purchasing function to match.
About the Role
This is a newly created, high-impact leadership role. Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Financial Officer, you'll own procurement strategy, supplier contracts, inventory control, and day-to-day purchasing operations across both properties — leading a small purchasing and stores team and working closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Engineering leadership to make sure the right goods arrive at the right cost, at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead group procurement strategy, policy, and governance across both resorts
Negotiate and manage supplier and vendor contracts to secure best value and reliable supply
Oversee inventory, stock control, and cost management, including stocktake reconciliation
Coordinate freight, shipping, and Customs clearance for imported goods
Manage day-to-day purchasing operations, including purchase order processing and approvals
Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing Officer and Storekeeper/Receiving Clerk at each property
Report on procurement spend, savings, and supplier performance to senior leadership
Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities across the purchasing function
About You
Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, ideally in hospitality
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings
Solid understanding of inventory management, stock control, and cost of sales principles
Experience coordinating freight, shipping, and import/Customs processes, ideally in a Pacific Island or remote-supply context
Confident people leader with experience managing small teams across multiple sites
Highly organised, data-driven, and comfortable reporting to senior stakeholders
A valid Cook Islands work permit, or eligibility to obtain one
What's In It For You
A newly created, high-impact leadership role across two iconic Rarotonga properties
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
A supportive, close-knit management team and genuine island lifestyle
Real scope to shape and build the group purchasing function from the ground up
Opportunities for professional development within the Island Hotels Group
Other offers great for you!
