What they need
Guest Coordinator
Sona Waterless Pedicures · Paper Mill Village, East Cobb (Marietta, GA) $17–$19/hour, depending on experience · Full-time
We have just opened something East Cobb doesn't have yet
Sona is a waterless manicure and pedicure studio. No basins, no jets, no soaking — because the plumbing behind a traditional pedicure basin holds bacteria and fungus that no cleaning protocol fully reaches. Our technique was developed by a podiatrist, Dr. Ushma Sheth, and it is performed by trained, certified nail technicians on clean, dry skin with medical-grade tools and non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free products.
That's the clinical half. The other half is the reason we're hiring you.
Sona is built to the standard of a five-star hotel spa, not a nail salon. Ivory and teal, warm gold, a signature scent — white sage, cardamom, palo santo, sandalwood — carried through the whole studio. A seasonal house beverage served in a ribbed glass on a tray with the guest's name written in calligraphy. A color wall built as an ombré sunset on floating acrylic shelves, which every single guest gets walked to. Our prices sit at hotel-spa parity and we never discount, because we don't intend to be compared to the place with the massage chairs.
The pedicure, reimagined. That's the whole idea.
What a Guest Coordinator actually does
You are the first person a guest meets and the last one they speak to. In a studio like ours, that is not a desk job — it's the performance of the entire first impression.
Here is the standard you'll be working to. It's real, it's written down, and it's what the role is:
Under five minutes from the front door to the technician's chair — with the middle of those five minutes belonging entirely to the guest.
- Before they arrive, you've already read their record. You know what they booked, what they wore last time, what they mentioned. Nothing is ever looked up in front of a guest.
- At the door, you greet them at their eye level and give them your whole attention. You take their drink order and present the iPad — their service, its length, the add-ons.
- Then you leave them alone with it. You pour their drink, take their coat and bag to their chair, and tell the technician the final timing.
- You come back with the tray — cup, linen name card, napkin — set it beside them, confirm their add-ons, tell them what time they'll be finished, and walk them back. Past the color wall, every time.
- You hand them off properly. The technician is standing. The iPad goes with the guest so they can take the color at their own pace.
- Then you go back to the desk and do the invisible work: add-ons onto the booking, notes into the profile, the next guest's record open before they walk in.
You'll also handle the phone — where our tone is warm, direct and never scripted-sounding — checkout, rebooking, our fifty-member VIP list, and the small judgment calls that keep a day from unraveling. A guest ten minutes late gets the full service and no comment; you just run it tighter. That call is yours.
What you will not do: quote a price out loud in the studio (it's on the iPad — you speak in minutes, not dollars), diagnose anything, upsell anyone, or invent urgency to close a membership. We don't do that here, and it's a relief.
Who we're looking for
You've worked somewhere the details mattered. Luxury retail, a hotel front desk or concierge, a fine-dining host stand, a high-end spa, a private club, first-class or premium cabin service, a members' lounge. Somewhere you learned that anticipating something is worth more than fixing it.
You should recognize yourself in most of this:
- You remember people. Names, preferences, the thing they mentioned last time about their daughter's wedding.
- You are genuinely warm without being performative. Guests can tell the difference instantly.
- You move at pace without ever looking rushed — and you understand those are two different things.
- You are organized in a way that shows up as calm. Systems, notes, follow-through, nothing dropped.
- You can hold a standard. A tray is assembled the same way every time whether it's 9am or the eleventh guest of the day.
- Discretion is second nature. Guests tell front-of-house people things.
- You're comfortable with software — we run on Zenoti and iPads.
Some things that help but are not required: nail or spa industry experience, a second language, a nail tech license, POS or booking-system fluency.
Some things that don't matter to us: a degree, a specific number of years, whether you've ever worked in this industry before.
The offer
- $17–19 per hour, based on what you bring. We pay above this market deliberately, because we're hiring for a standard we don't intend to compromise on.
- Full-time, with a consistent weekly schedule. Thursday-Saturday 8:30 AM-7:00 PM and Sunday 10:30 AM-6:00 PM — this is a guest-facing studio.
- Uniform provided: a $180 startup stipend for your kit (blazer, shell, trousers, belt — all specified, all yours to keep) and a $70 refresh every January.
- Real training. You'll be trained on The Sona Standard, our written operating manual, and you'll know exactly what excellent looks like on your first day rather than guessing at it for six months.
- A title guests actually hear. You're a Guest Coordinator. It's on your badge, in our confirmations, on our website, and we say it out loud.
- A short, direct chain of command. Owner, Operations Manager, Front Desk Manager and you. Ideas get heard and implemented in the same week.
- Ground floor. We're opening. The habits and the standards of this studio are being set right now, and whoever takes this role sets a lot of them.

Send your résumé and a short note to [email protected]. The note matters more than the résumé — tell us about a moment where you made someone's experience better than they expected it to be, and what you actually did.
