Guest Experience & Promotions Host — Home Away From Home

Location: Home Away From Home, Wrigleyville
Schedule: Part-time evenings and weekends, primarily Friday and Saturday nights
Compensation: $20/hr + performance incentives

Home Away From Home is looking for a magnetic, outgoing personality to become the face of our weekend experience.

This isn’t a traditional host position. You’ll welcome guests at the door, energize the room, connect with people walking by, help turn curious passersby into customers, and make every group feel like they arrived at the right party.

The ideal person is warm, confident, quick on their feet, socially fearless, and genuinely enjoys meeting new people. You might be the person who knows everyone at the party—or makes everyone feel like you do.

No hospitality experience is required. Personality, judgment, reliability, and the ability to connect with people matter more to us than a résumé.

What You’ll Do

• Greet every guest with enthusiasm and make an immediate personal connection
• Create energy outside the entrance without being pushy or aggressive
• Invite passersby to check out the bar, promotions, DJs, watch parties, and events
• Help groups celebrate birthdays, game-day wins, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and nights out
• Introduce guests to bartenders, servers, DJs, and managers
• Keep the entrance looking lively, welcoming, and organized
• Capture occasional guest-approved social content and help encourage tags and follows
• Communicate crowd conditions, guest concerns, and opportunities to management
• Represent Home Away From Home with confidence, humor, and good judgment

• Able to read the room and adjust your approach to different guests
• Dependable enough to bring great energy even when the weather is bad or the night starts slowly
• Comfortable working in a loud, fast-moving nightlife environment
• Fun without becoming reckless, inappropriate, or intoxicated
• Available consistently on Friday and Saturday nights
• Interested in nightlife, entertainment, promotion, social media, or hospitality

You help create a noticeable increase in:

• Guests entering and staying at Home Away
• Energy at the entrance and inside the venue
• Repeat customers and personal guest connections
• Birthday parties, group visits, and event participation
• Positive social posts, tags, and word-of-mouth
• Guests who leave saying, “That person made our night.”
