Guest Experience Executive

What You’ll Do

• Lead guests on tours around Sandakan and share the stories behind its history, culture, food and attractions.
• Recommend and coordinate exciting local experiences tailored to guests’ interests.
• Host fun in-house activities such as cooking classes, batik painting, Kids Club activities and cultural programmes.
• Coordinate transportation, tour bookings, itineraries and ground arrangements to ensure smooth experiences.
• Support corporate offsites, school visits and group programmes by coordinating activities, dining, meetings and logistics.
• Connect with guests, understand their needs and recommend experiences that make their stay memorable.
• Work with local guides, artisans, drivers and community partners to bring authentic Sandakan experiences to life.
• Maintain activity schedules, bookings, supplier information and guest feedback while ensuring safety standards are met.

What We’re Looking For

• Must hold a valid Tourist Guide Licence issued by MOTAC.
• Excellent knowledge of Sandakan and its surrounding areas.
• A local Sandakan or Sabah candidate is strongly preferred.
• Outgoing, engaging and confident in hosting guests and conducting tours.
• Good storytelling and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or other languages are an advantage.
• Experience in tourism, hospitality, guest relations, tour guiding, events or activity programming is preferred.
• Comfortable engaging with international travellers, families, children and corporate groups.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and handle unexpected changes.
• A valid driving licence is preferred.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
