Part-Time

This is not a traditional cashier position.

AfroTex Grill uses self-service ordering kiosks, so your primary responsibility is not standing behind a register taking orders.

Your job is to create the customer experience.

We are looking for someone who naturally enjoys talking to people, welcoming guests, explaining our food, and helping customers feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every guest entering AfroTex Grill.
• Create a friendly, energetic, and professional first impression.
• Help first-time customers understand the AfroTex concept and menu.
• Explain our bowls, burritos, suya plates, proteins, sauces, and other menu options.
• Guide customers through the ordering kiosks when assistance is needed.
• Make recommendations based on what customers like.
• Introduce customers to popular items, drinks, add-ons, and promotions.
• Check on customers while they wait for their food.
• Help organize pickup and delivery orders.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming front-of-house environment.
• Resolve simple customer concerns or quickly involve a manager when needed.
• Thank customers and invite them to return.

• Can confidently explain food and make recommendations.
• Understands hospitality, not just customer service.
• Has a positive and professional presence.
• Can recognize when a customer looks confused and proactively offer assistance.
• Works well without needing constant supervision.
• Is dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

A great Guest Experience Host should make customers feel:

Welcomed. Helped. Informed. Appreciated.

Customers should never walk into AfroTex Grill and feel like they are alone trying to figure out a kiosk.

The kiosk handles the transaction.

You handle the relationship.

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
