Guest Service Assistant

About the role

Responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and professional service to hotel guests. The role includes handling check-in and check-out, guest enquiries, reservations, payments, and other Front Office operations while maintaining high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Handle guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently
• Verify guest registration details and room rates
• Assist with room assignments, pre-registration, and special guest requests
• Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints professionally
• Promote room upgrades and hotel packages to maximise room revenue
• Handle cash, credit cards, and other payment transactions according to hotel procedures
• Maintain knowledge of room rates, promotions, hotel facilities, and services
• Handle reservations, cancellations, and walk-in guests
• Manage safe deposit boxes and other Front Office procedures

About you

• Minimum Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism, or a related field
• Previous experience in Front Office or Guest Services in a hotel is an added advantage
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Pleasant personality with a customer-service-oriented attitude
• Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Good computer skills and familiar with hotel systems is an advantage
• Able to handle cash and payment transactions accurately
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
