What they need

Northwest Partners is engaged in a strategic initiative with a well-established insurance organization and seeks an experienced Guidewire ClaimCenter Developer to design and deliver scalable claims technology solutions. This role will serve as a deep technical contributor across Guidewire ClaimCenter, cloud services, integrations, and application architecture while aligning implementation with business needs.

What YOU will do

  • Design robust, high-performance solutions across applications, systems, and services in the property and casualty insurance claims domain.
  • Serve as a key technical contributor on critical claims technology projects and initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance by sharing deep platform, architecture, and development knowledge without formal people management responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to system architecture, technical standards, security practices, and development processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align technical implementation with business requirements.
  • Create proofs of concept to demonstrate technical capabilities and validate solution approaches.
  • Apply coding, testing, security, and software engineering best practices.
  • Develop and support Guidewire ClaimCenter solutions and surrounding middleware and cloud integrations.
  • Work within SAFe and established software development lifecycle practices.
  • Troubleshoot application and integration issues and identify performance bottlenecks.

What YOU will bring us

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Hands-on Guidewire ClaimCenter development experience.
  • At least 8 years of software development experience, including experience providing technical direction on complex initiatives.
  • Expert understanding of the full software development lifecycle and the ability to identify and improve development bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Deep knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles for scalable, maintainable systems.
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance claims; auto insurance experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, or BillingCenter.
  • Experience with Guidewire PCF, database models, business rules, assignment rules, message queues, batches, REST APIs, integrations, troubleshooting, and performance profiling.
  • Experience with Java and Gosu; familiarity with Kotlin, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript is beneficial.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, SQL, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture, including services such as SQS, SNS, Lambda, PostgreSQL, EKS, or ECS.
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, unit testing, integration testing, and version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with Maven or Gradle and modern dependency management practices.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging platforms such as AppDynamics and Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Angular, React, Vue, responsive design, progressive web applications, Webpack, or NPM.
  • Familiarity with AI prompt engineering or agentic engineering concepts.
  • Guidewire Cloud InsuranceSuite Professional Developer certification is preferred but not required.
