The Role
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Gunsmith Assistant to support our Lead Gunsmith with day-to-day service and repair work. This is a hands-on bench position focused on parts replacement, assembly, and routine gunsmithing tasks. No hand fitting or machining is required. It's a good fit for someone with solid firearms experience who wants to work with quality shotguns in a small, professional team.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble shotguns according to factory specifications
• Replace worn, damaged, or defective parts under the direction of the Lead Gunsmith
• Perform function checks and safety checks on repaired and inspected firearms
• Assist with warranty and customer-return repairs
• Inspect incoming product and flag cosmetic or mechanical issues
• Pull, organize, and track parts inventory for repair jobs
• Keep accurate repair notes and help maintain required firearms records
• Package repaired firearms for return shipment
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe

Requirements

• Hands-on experience working on firearms (gunsmithing, armorer work, gun shop, military, or law enforcement armory experience)
• Working knowledge of firearm safety and safe handling practices
• Comfort with hand tools and following exploded diagrams and service instructions
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures precisely
• Must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to possess firearms
• Must pass a background check
• Reliable transportation to Easton, MD

Preferred

• Experience with semi-automatic and over-and-under shotguns
• Armorer certification or formal gunsmithing coursework
• Familiarity with FFL recordkeeping (A&D books)

Schedule and Pay

• Hourly position, part-time, approximately 10-20 hours per week
• Pay: $20 per hour, based on experience
• On-site in Easton, MD
