Gymnastics Instructor

The YMCA of Darke County is looking for gymnastics instructors.

Our instructors are responsible for providing class curriculum & instructing gymnastics to children ages 3 & up. Gymnastics instructors serve as the expert during classes and recreational activities and ensure a high-quality sports and recreational experience.

Hourly wage is commensurate with experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must demonstrate the ability to teach a safe and effective class

· Must be available to work through the school year

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds

· Basic gymnastics knowledge required including proper spotting techniques

· USAG Safety Certification or YUSA Gymnastics Instruction certification a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintains a safe environment while providing clear and consistent instruction to participants in a positive and constructive environment. Follow the USA teaching guidelines

· Work with children to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics in a progressive style while following all safety procedures and protocols

· Teach gymnastics skills in a progressive style which includes children

• Exhibit and encourage charecter development values

• Keep accurate attendance records

· Monitor participants’ performance to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure knowledge of course standards & objectives

· Set up/tear down equipment

• Arrive 7 minutes before your scheduled work time
