Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

£90-£100 | Peterborough | Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:30 | On-site

MedicsPro is recruiting a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist for a 12-week locum booking based in Peterborough, with an immediate start available.

This full-time assignment involves supporting both obstetric and gynaecology services, including the management of emergency pathways and procedures across both specialties. The successful candidate will be expected to work confidently within obstetrics and gynaecology and contribute to a varied weekly job plan covering acute and elective activity.

Essential Requirements

• GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Consultant-level Obstetrics & Gynaecology experience
• Confidence working across both obstetrics and gynaecology services
• Ability to manage emergency procedures in both specialties
• Ability to undertake labour ward responsibilities, including oversight of emergency procedures
• Experience supporting emergency gynaecology pathways, including early pregnancy services

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the gynaecology ward and emergency gynaecology pathways, including early pregnancy services
• Provide cover for the emergency gynaecology daytime rota
• Support Labour Ward activity, including oversight of emergency procedures
• Undertake a planned elective Caesarean section list each week
• Deliver gynaecology theatre sessions, with additional cover for consultant annual leave where required
• Conduct weekly scan and Pipelle clinics

• Location: Peterborough

• Duration: 12-week booking
• Start date: Immediate
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:30 (40 hours per week)
• On-site role
• No out-of-hours on-call commitment is currently anticipated
