Habilitation Provider

Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Habilitation Provider, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to achieve greater independence and quality of life. This rewarding position involves delivering personalized support, fostering growth, and promoting community engagement. As a Habilitation Provider, you will work directly with clients to develop skills in daily living, communication, social interaction, and community participation, ensuring they receive compassionate and effective care in various settings.

Duties

• Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Implement individualized care plans focused on skill development in communication, social skills, and self-care routines
• Support clients in navigating community environments through transportation assistance and community outings
• Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and address challenging situations effectively
• Foster communication using methods such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication tools when applicable
• Assist with caregiving tasks including meal preparation, medication reminders, and safety monitoring
• Document client progress accurately and communicate updates to team members and families regularly

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or cognitive disabilities
• Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other alternative communication methods
• Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and client-centered care approaches
• Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely for personal transportation assistance or client outings
• Prior experience in home & community care environments supporting individuals with disabilities
• Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members
• Certification in First Aid and CPR to ensure safety during all activities
• Capable of assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, feeding, and mobility support
• Experience working with children or adults requiring caregiving support in various settings

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 20.0 per week
