Hagglands Driver

About the role

To transport visitors on an expedition of their own whether by hagglund or shuttle, while sharing with them our passion for Antarctica and our local environment.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome visitors warmly and engage with them in a polite and friendly manner

• Anticipate visitors' needs and be available to offer assistance

• Thank and farewell visitors with sincerity

• Provide clearly delivered, accurate commentary services in alignment with the Antarctic Toolbox

• Maintain good general knowledge of Antarctica including fauna, flora, landmarks, history, science and climate change

• Efficiently maintain and operate International Antarctic Centre vehicles, keeping them clean and tidy

• Complete daily, weekly and other checks as per IAC guidelines

• Transport passengers on tours around the Hagglund adventure course or to and from the attraction

• Drive in a responsible, safe and legal manner for authorised work functions

About you

• Totally familiar with assigned routesMust-have skills / experience: Full Clean Motor Vehicle Licence, P Endorsement and/or Tracks Endorsement, (or ability to obtain them)
• Public Speaking skills
• Advantageous to have some Mechanical knowledge of vehicles
• Conversant with standard daily timetable
• Compliant with laws and company procedures
• Able to take part in training programmes and safety and emergency exercises and drills
• Able to maintain drivers log books and other documentation as required
• Education / certifications: P Endorsement and or Tracks Endorsements
• Nice-to-haves: Multilingual, Mechanical Knowledge, Tour Guiding Experience.
• Years of experience: Held a full driver’s licence for a Minimum of 4 years
