Responsibilities

MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING WITH TEXTURED AND CURLY HAIR

Assist senior stylists with preparing clients for hair services, including shampooing, conditioning, and setting up tools and products.
Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning and disinfecting tools, stations, and work areas in compliance with health regulations.
Support with retail sales by recommending hair care products, extensions, and styling accessories to clients.
Help manage appointment scheduling and client communication using salon software such as Acuity scheduling or similar platforms.
Contribute to a positive client experience through friendly front desk support, including greeting clients and managing check-in/check-out procedures.
Assist with store management tasks like inventory tracking and retail math calculations to ensure product availability.

Requirements

Passion for the beauty industry with a desire to learn and grow as a hairstylist assistant.
Experience working in a salon or related environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Knowledge of salon sanitation practices and safety standards.
Basic understanding of hair care, hair coloring, hair styling, and cosmetology principles such as color theory.
Familiarity with retail sales techniques including upselling and retail math to promote products confidently.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy salon setting while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $25.63 - $30.86 per hour
