Handler & AVI Engineer (Test)

About the role

This is a hands-on role combining mechanical parameter adjustment (Handler) and vision-based inspection setup (AVI). You will set up and adjust Handler equipment parameters and configure Automated Visual Inspection systems to detect appearance-related defects.

This is a full-time, 100% onsite role based at Bangkadi Industrial Park, Pathum Thani, Thailand, in a cleanroom environment where use of a full cleanroom suit is required. Please be advised that no relocation support is provided; candidates are expected to be able to commute to this location.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and adjust Handler equipment parameters — including pick and release suction and timing — to ensure accurate and stable transfer of devices to and from trays
• Interpret part and tray engineering drawings to configure Handler and AVI equipment during setup or product changeover
• Configure and fine-tune Automated Visual Inspection (AVI) parameters, including lighting, threshold, and acceptance criteria, to detect appearance-related NG defects in place of manual microscope inspection
• Adjust AVI settings to minimize false calls, including both over-detection and under-detection, while maintaining inspection accuracy
• Perform basic disassembly and reassembly of machine components as required for equipment setup or changeover within the Handler/AVI scope
• Coordinate with Test Equipment Engineering and other technical teams on issues beyond standard parameter adjustment
• Maintain documentation of setup parameters, changeover procedures, and inspection criteria for each product

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
• 0–3 years of experience; fresh graduates with relevant senior projects are welcome to apply
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including part drawings and tray drawings
• Basic hand-tool skills for equipment disassembly and reassembly during setup
• English proficiency at a communicable level
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• No prior image processing experience required; training provided on the job

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of machine vision or image processing concepts, gained through coursework, a senior project, or an internship
• Familiarity with vision system platforms such as Keyence or Cognex
• Exposure to semiconductor, electronics, or automotive-grade manufacturing environments
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic and vacuum systems
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for interpreting or modifying technical drawings
• TOEIC 550+
