Cadenza Music & Art Academy is a performance-based music school in North Vancouver, dedicated to providing exceptional music education in a welcoming, inspiring, and professional environment.

We are currently looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Handpan Instructor to join our growing teaching team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students of different ages and skill levels and is committed to creating an engaging, positive, and inspiring learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one handpan lessons to children, teens, and adults
• Teach handpan fundamentals, technique, rhythm, melody, improvisation, and musical expression
• Adapt lessons to each student's age, level, interests, and musical goals
• Develop students' musicality, creativity, confidence, and performance skills
• Prepare students for recitals, performances, workshops, and other academy events
• Encourage creativity, improvisation, and personal musical expression
• Maintain professional communication with students, parents, and academy staff
• Participate in academy concerts, workshops, recitals, and educational programs

Qualifications

• Strong handpan playing skills and musical knowledge
• Previous experience teaching music or handpan is preferred
• Ability to work with students of different ages and skill levels
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of rhythm, melody, improvisation, and music fundamentals
• Passion for teaching and helping students develop their musical abilities
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
• Consistent weekly availability is required
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
