a Health & Safety Process Improvement Senior Specialist Steelmet offers corporate services such as: Strategic Development, International Business Operation, Sustainability, Non-ferrous Metal Purchasing, Resource Recovery & Central Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics, Operational Excellence, IT, Information Security, HR, Communication, Financial and Auditing Services to the Viohalco Companies aiming to support them and drive best practices across the business segments.

The Health & Safety Process Improvement Senior Specialist leads the deployment and continuous improvement of the OpEx Health & Safety Pillar across Viohalco Manufacturing Plants, helping site teams build sustainable safety routines, strengthen ownership and improve H&S performance.

As part of the Operational Excellence team and in close alignment with Group HSE, the role converts H&S standards, methodologies and tools into practical plant-level processes, capability-building activities and measurable improvement actions.

The position requires extensive on-site presence, including trainings, workshops, maturity assessments and hands-on coaching for HSE Managers, plant leaders, engineers, supervisors, operators and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and continuously improve OpEx H&S Pillar methodologies, systems and tools across manufacturing plants, ensuring practical and sustainable application.
• Promote a proactive Health & Safety culture by building plant capability, strengthening ownership and supporting behavioral safety practices at all levels.
• Standardize and improve H&S routines, review meetings, visual management, daily shop-floor practices and KPI monitoring mechanisms.
• Design and deliver trainings, workshops and coaching sessions for local HSE teams, plant leadership, supervisors, engineers, foremen, operators and technicians.
• Support model line and plant deployments by translating Group HSE requirements and OpEx methodology into clear operating standards, routines and action plans.
• Conduct audits, maturity assessments and coaching visits to identify gaps, verify application of standards and agree corrective actions with plant teams.
• Work closely with Group HSE, Operational Excellence structures and plant management to align priorities, deployment plans, compliance requirements and improvement initiatives.
• Capture, structure and share best practices, lessons learned and reapplication opportunities across plants to accelerate H&S performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Health & Safety, Industrial Management, Operations Management or a related technical field; a master’s degree is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with solid knowledge of H&S systems, standards, risk assessment, incident prevention and behavioral safety.
• Good understanding of Operational Excellence, Lean or similar manufacturing excellence methodologies.
• Strong training, coaching, facilitation and change-management skills, with the ability to engage both leadership and shop-floor teams.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with central functions, plant management, local HSE Managers, department heads and frontline personnel.
• Excellent communication, presentation and business writing skills in Greek and English.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Viohalco Manufacturing Plants for deployments, workshops, coaching visits and audits.
